The Fort Garry Hotel, Spa and Conference Centre

The Fort Garry hotel is conveniently located near the forks shopping area and the museum of human Rights in downtown Winnipeg. The rooms have historic charm, comfortable beds, and a variety of luxurious pillows. Pillows. The breakfast served in the hotel. Lobby was delicious with a wide variety of food and fruits. The bar was welcoming with delicious food for lunch and dinner, and great bartenders who mixed terrific drinks. Even on a very cold day, it was an easy walk to the human Rights museum and from there to the forks shopping area where we could visit restaurants and a variety of local stores. We also took advantage of the spa on the 10th floor which was an exceptional experience.

Top tier and very professional staff. Everytime we needed help or to request something it was taken care of instantly. The atmosphere was very calm and polished. The entire castle was very clean and stylish, as well as the rooms there. I personally love vintage decor and these rooms did not dissapoint. They looked like something straight out of a movie. I got a massage at the spa and it was wonderful. My masseuse was very good at customizing my massage to what i needed. The food the entire stay was also perfect everytime.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Fort Garry Hotel. The rooms were unbelievably gorgeous—elegant, comfortable, and full of character. The rich history of the hotel truly makes it one of a kind and adds such a unique charm to the entire experience. Breakfast was phenomenal, with excellent quality and service. I recently stayed at the Fort Garry Hotel, and I absolutely loved my experience. The front desk staff truly stand out—they are incredibly professional, warm, and genuinely hospitable. They are the main charm of the hotel. I even watched them handle difficult guests with patience and a smile, which I deeply appreciate as someone who has worked in the hospitality industry myself. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though they could use a bit of updating. Still, the overall ambiance of the hotel more than makes up for it. Walking through the halls feels like stepping onto a movie set—classic, elegant, and full of character. I’m already looking forward to my next stay at this beautiful hotel.

I was in Winnipeg for 3 nights/4 days for a conference. The room was standard and had everything you need; loved the high ceilings; beds were very comfortable. The service was top notch and I found the staff went the extra mile to make sure the room was cleaned and taken care of. The front desk staff were always very helpful and professional and were able to store my bags to accommodate a late flight on my last day here. Location was perfect, as it is just across from the forks and close to downtown, allowing me to walk to where I needed to go. Thanks for making my stay in Winnipeg a pleasant one! :)

Overall, the stay was enjoyable. The food was good, and the service was solid. If you stay at the hotel, you may receive extra perks, such as complimentary tickets to Yuk Yuk’s, depending on availability. They will also try to secure restaurant reservations for you. The serving staff were friendly and attentive. The only downside was housekeeping. We didn’t make a mess, but the room cleanup felt rushed—the blanket was simply thrown back on the bed, and it didn’t appear that the towels were replaced. Overall, it’s a great place to stay. One thing to note: some rooms do not have a fridge. I’m not sure if that applies to all rooms, so it’s worth confirming in advance.

I stayed at the Fort Garry Hotel for about a month, and it remains one of my best hotel experiences. Afterward, I moved to the Residence Tower for a few more months, and the experience stayed just as positive — quiet, comfortable, and very convenient for long‑term living. The amenities here are excellent. The indoor pool and wellness facilities are a real highlight, especially during the winter months in Winnipeg. Indoor parking is easy and reliable, which makes a big difference when the weather turns cold. The location was also perfect for me — just a short walk to Union Station, which made getting to and from work incredibly convenient. Between the spa, the fitness centre, the location, and the overall sense of care from the team, the hotel became a place that genuinely felt like home during my time in the city.
